Pastor Chris Oyakhilome was born December 7th 1963 in Edo State in Nigeria. He grew up in a family of faith with loving, committed parents. He is the eldest of three sons born to Elder T.E Oyakhilome (one of the founders of the Assemblies of God Church in Benin City) and Angelina. Angelina was the matriarch and imprinted her grace on her son from an early age.

The LoveWorld ministry is supported by the entire family. Reverend Ken is his brother and the revered pastor at Christ Embassy’s Houston Texas Church. He is also a part of the Christ Embassy Central Executive Council. KattyWorghiren is the director of the LoveWorld Music and Arts Ministry that has a host of gospel top-selling artists.

Pastor Chris has two daughters, Carissa Sharon and Charlene. Carissa Sharon chose to follow her father’s lead of sharing the Word of God to all people. The name is CSO (Community Service Organization) She is a gifted gospel singer and is a part of the LoveWorld Music and Arts community.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome attended Edo College before winning a scholarship to study architecture at Bendel State University, known today as Ambrose Ali University, where the student earned an BSc in Architecture as well as an honorary Doctor of Science award. He is also awarded an honorary doctorate in divinity from Benson Idahosa University. Ambrose Ali University was the place where he sensed God called him to become a minister for the Lord.

He had an unassuming prayer group known as “Youth for Christ,” which eventually evolved into the most popular organization of its kind on campus and would serve as the foundation of the future Christ Embassy and LoveWorld Incorporated with millions of followers across the world.

Christ Embassy has a strong presence throughout Pastor Chris’s homeland of Nigeria. The ministry has two healing schools that are located in South Africa.

Music and Gospel Music are also an important part of the worship. Pastor Chris is adamant Christ Embassy Churches to have a choir that is trained by the Loveworld Music and Arts Ministry, and through the spirit and direction of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome many of these singers go on to be successful in their solo careers.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, a passionate philanthropist founded the Chris Oyakhilome Foundation Inter (COFI) as an non-profit, non-governmental charity that is aiming to aid communities that are most vulnerable as well as those in the most impoverished areas of the world.
