    Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and mop offer the convenience of removing dry debris (dust dirt) and wet messes (spills or staining) in one go without the need to switch out devices. They can also save storage space compared to having two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot must be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacle avoidance. Look for models with docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, replenish their water tanks and wash the mopping pads.

    1. Eufy S1 Pro

It has a lot to offer for its relatively low cost, and it’s among the easiest robots we’ve tested to set up. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and the quick-start guide will get you running with a clean, full dust bag, hard floor solution and water tank in no time.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. The mops spin at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to quickly remove dirt, pet hair and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, a range of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app which lets you choose the kind of cleaning you’d like for each room.

You can, for example request the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly, but leave the bedroom in its own space. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models can’t. The only drawback is that it tends to hit objects and walls at full speed. However, a quick look at the cleaning history on the app will tell you exactly what the robot done, where it is moving, and what obstacles he has run into or avoided.

A large LCD screen on the docking station tells you when maintenance jobs are required including emptying the debris tray and rinsing its dirty water tank. It’s also able to mix detergent automatically into the water tank, by using a 600ml bottle filled with Eufy’s own solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop come with plenty of running time, with the mop capable of running for 184 minutes in Quiet mode, and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in normal mode before having to recharge or return to the base to refill. The app is simple to use and intuitive that lets you view every aspect of the cleaning.

    2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock’s top-of-the-line robot vacuum and mop is the newest version. Unlike last year’s model, this one features a double agitator in its mopping pad which significantly enhances its carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has improved suction power, allowing it to remove small hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners may be unable to pick up.

As with the other two Roborock models I’ve tried the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology to helps it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things a step further by incorporating a dual camera that can detect objects and decide whether they are a wall or another surface. It then can automatically alter its path and clean around them without skipping a beat.

This is the most expensive of the three models I’ve examined, but it’s also the most feature-packed. Its sleek, angular design is eye catching and comes with three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which also restarts the cleaning mop function, a button for cleaning that doubles up as a child-lock, and a home-button to send the robot to its dock. The hinged lid can be opened to reveal a 350ml dustbin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank will empty itself and the bin auto-refilling.

The only downside I found in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount isn’t movable. You can replace the mopping cloth if required, but it’s not easy to remove the mount for manual washing. I’ve observed that any carpet that the robot touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on mount, which can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart features that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can manage and set up these through the Roborock app that is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. Continue allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor the life of batteries and maintenance on components. You’ll need to go through a series of steps to activate voice control on this model. It’s a shame considering how efficient it is otherwise.

    3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a leader in the industry with innovative features, superior suction power and cutting-edge mowing abilities. Its clever design permits customised and efficient cleaning while reducing time.

The X40 is the first robot vacuum cleaner that can deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which easily makes it one of the best alternatives available. This powerful vacuum removes dry debris, including pet hair and dust. It also comes with a high-quality mop that makes hard floors sparkling clean, even without a wet pad. The X40 is also extremely quiet while in use with only occasional bursts during mode changes or self-maintenance.

The X40 has a side brush that can be lifted and extended. This allows it to reach into corners that are hard to reach and clean furniture that is curved like table and chair legs. The robot is also able to reach under low-profile furnishings which makes it an ideal option for apartments with small spaces or condos. The side brush automatically tilts down when it spots wet spots. This is a great feature that allows the X40 to prevent damage to floors from the frequent back-and-forth movement.

In contrast to other robots that only focus on one task, the X40 can perform both vacuuming and mopping at the same time or individually. It can also be programmed to skip areas that have carpet and only mop hard floors, and vice versa. It can be controlled using the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operations.

The app is simple to use and understand, and the X40 comes with a variety of smart features that are simple to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times. It can also be adjusted to adjust suction power, change modes, view floor plans and maps, and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also track its progress and inform you when it’s finished.

The X40 is easy to maintain and comes with many convenient features that make it an excellent choice for busy families. The docking station will automatically empty the dustbin and wash the mop pads and refill them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It can also detect when the mop pad is filled and notify you before it gets overflowing, reducing the requirement for manual maintenance.

    4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available on the market. It has a number of characteristics that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, which is a new feature on its mop, utilizes two mop heads that are high-speed to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also remove pet hair, small dirt particles, and clean up spills and dirt-stained spots.

The mop is cleaned and dried at the base station each time they are used. This is a great feature because it prevents the growth of mould and unpleasant odours in storage, and it also makes the mop system a lot more efficient. This is a feature we haven’t seen in other robot vacuum and mop models. It could be a great way to keep your home cleaner longer.

There are a lot of options, including the ability to schedule cleanings and adjust preferences. They can be set through the app or there are buttons that can be found on the device itself. The app is easy to use and provides a variety of options for customizing the cleaning process, and there are many functions that other robots don’t include, such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power when it detects dust particles, instead of relying on an individual setting.

The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a metallic-white-white finish that looks elegant and sophisticated. It’s a bit heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots on this list but it’s not too heavy. It feels solid and well-built. Mopping is also well-designed and the double-rotating mop works well on hard floors as well as in corners. The MopExtend feature lets them reach even 2mm below the baseboards.
