The sanctuary pen was expected to be hundreds of times bigger than her Miami house and surrounded by ocean, not concrete tanks.

If the plan was successful, Lolita (also called Tokitae or Toki), might still be alive. In the wild, killer whales are highly social animals that are bonded with family members until they die.
